What is the typical ground loop behaviour of the steel wire braid?
The galvanised steel braid is not designed to substitute a dedicated protective conductor. It provides functional screening and mechanical protection. For installations that require the braid to carry a fault current, we recommend verifying the cross-sectional area of the braid against the upstream protection device with your electrical engineering team. We publish braid resistance values per metre for each cable size.
