2-Core PUR Drag Chain Power Cable for Continuous Flex Applications
Cable failure in cable carriers shuts down automated production lines. The resulting downtime costs eclipse the price of the cable itself hundreds of times over. A standard PVC-jacketed power cable in a continuously bending application will crack, corkscrew, or suffer core rupture—sometimes within weeks of installation. The 2-Core PUR Drag Chain Power Cable prevents this failure pattern. Its PUR outer jacket and finely stranded core geometry are engineered specifically for tight bend radii and millions of flex cycles. So you replace the cable less often and schedule maintenance on your terms, not the cable’s.
PUR Jacket: Abrasion Resistance That Extends Replacement Intervals
Chemically cross-linked polyurethane sheath
Resists abrasion, mineral oils, coolants, and hydrolytic degradation.
Your cable survives direct contact with machine tool cutting fluids and washdown sprays without jacket embrittlement or swelling. Replacement cycles lengthen measurably.
Fine-Stranded Bare Copper Conductors (Class 6 IEC 60228)
Conductor flexibility is not just about strand count—it is about fatigue resistance under constant reverse bending. This cable uses extremely fine individual copper strands.
Lower bending stress at each strand junction means fewer micro-fractures over time. Conductor resistance stays stable across the cable’s installed life, preventing intermittent power drops to servo drives or sensors.
Short Lay Length Core Stranding
The two cores are twisted with a deliberately shortened lay length.
When the cable flexes inside a drag chain, each core experiences uniform tensile and compressive loading rather than differential stress. Core corkscrewing—a primary cause of internal cable failure—is physically suppressed.
Pressure-Extruded Inner Jacket (Where Applicable)
An intermediate filling compound or inner jacket prevents the cores from shifting relative to each other during high-acceleration travel.
You can run this cable at higher traverse speeds and acceleration rates without internal abrasion between the cores. That keeps your gantry or linear axis moving at its rated mechanical speed.

Industry Applications & Scenario Validation
- Machine Tool & CNC Automation — Routed inside moving cable carriers on 3-axis mills and lathes. The jacket withstands hot metal chips and continuous coolant splash without hardening or cracking.
- Robotic Pick-and-Place Cells — Installed on high-cycle Delta and SCARA robotic arms. The short lay length prevents torsion-induced core rupture at the robot wrist joint, where twist accumulates rapidly.
- Linear Motion & Gantry Systems — Powers moving heads on laser cutting, waterjet, and automated storage/retrieval gantries. Maintains signal and power integrity under accelerations exceeding 5 m/s².
- Packaging & Filling Lines — Exposed to frequent washdowns with mild alkaline cleaning agents. PUR jacket’s hydrolysis resistance prevents the brittle failure that standard PVC demonstrates after repeated chemical contact.
- Wind Turbine Pitch Control (Fixed Wiring Section) — Where vibration and occasional flexing occur inside the nacelle. Temperature stability down to -25°C keeps the jacket pliable when turbine output drops in winter conditions.

FAQ
Can this 2-core cable also carry a control signal, or do I need a separate shielded cable?
It is designed as a power supply cable. If you are transmitting low-voltage analog signals (0–10V, 4–20mA), we recommend a shielded drag chain cable instead. Unshielded cores running adjacent to high-frequency drives can couple noise onto your signal. Tell our engineers what you are powering—we will specify whether a combined power-and-signal hybrid cable is a better fit.
What is the minimum bending radius I should design into my cable carrier?
For continuous flexing, allow 7.5× the outer cable diameter. If you design the carrier bends tighter than this, the cable will kink internally even if the jacket looks fine. The failure shows up as an intermittent open circuit at the bend point. We review CAD layouts of clients’ cable carriers before quoting large volumes—this catches clearance issues early.
What is your standard delivery lead time for custom lengths?
Stocked cross-sections ship within 5–7 business days from our central warehouse. Custom drum lengths (non-standard meter marks) add roughly 10–14 days. Volume above 5,000 meters may require a separate production slot; we confirm the exact ex-works date when you submit the RFQ.
