Stop Losing Data and Video Quality in Noisy Environments
Do you face constant signal drops in your factory? Is your CCTV video full of static or “snow” because of heavy machinery nearby? Do your expensive encoder cables break too easily when moved? We know the pain. You buy cheap cables to save money. But then, electromagnetic interference (EMI) ruins your data. Motors, fluorescent lights, and power lines create noise. This noise kills your signal. Your machines stop talking to each other. Your security footage is useless. You waste hours fixing wires instead of working. You need a cable that fights back. You need a cable built for the real world, not just a quiet office. Our Imported CAT5e 4-core 0.2 sq mm twisted pair shielded cable is the solution. It has a double sheath and heavy-duty shielding. It stops interference dead in its tracks. It is tough, flexible, and UL certified. Let’s look at why this is the last cable you will need to buy for this job.
What Makes This Cable Special? (Technical Specs)
This is not a standard internet cable. This is an industrial-grade tool. We built it using strict standards to handle tough jobs. Here is exactly what is inside the jacket:
Conductor and Core Details
- Wire Gauge: 24 AWG (0.2 sq mm / 0.51mm). This is the perfect size. It is thick enough to carry power and data over distance but thin enough to stay flexible.
- Material: High-purity bare copper. Not copper-clad aluminum (CCA). Real copper means less resistance and less heat.
- Structure: 4 Twisted Pairs (8 cores total). The twisting is tight. This cancels out noise from neighboring wires and external sources.
- Stranding: Stranded copper, not solid. This means the wire bends easily without snapping. Perfect for moving parts like robot arms or cable tracks.
Shielding and Armor
- Primary Shield: Aluminum Foil (100% coverage). It wraps around each pair or the whole core to block high-frequency noise.
- Secondary Shield: Tinned Copper Braid. This is a woven mesh over the foil. It catches low-frequency magnetic interference.
- Coverage: Over 70% braid coverage. Some cheap cables only have 30%. Ours covers most of the cable for maximum protection.
- Drain Wire: A bare copper wire runs under the shield. It carries noise to the ground safely.
Jacket and Sheath (Double Protection)
- Inner Sheath: PVC or PE. It holds the twisted pairs together tightly.
- Outer Sheath: Heavy-duty PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). We use a special mix that resists oil, chemicals, and abrasion.
- Double Sheath Design: This is key. The two layers act as a barrier. If the outer layer gets scratched, the inner layer still protects the wires. It also adds strength for pulling through walls or conduits.
- Color: Typically black or gray, but we can customize. The print on the jacket is clear: “CAT5e SHIELDED 4PAIR 24AWG UL”.
Performance Numbers
- Bandwidth: 100 MHz. This handles 1 Gigabit Ethernet easily.
- Data Rate: 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) up to 100 meters (328 feet).
- Impedance: 100 Ohms ± 15%. This matches all standard network gear (RJ45 jacks, switches).
- Voltage Rating: 300V. Safe for low-voltage power and PoE (Power over Ethernet).
- Temperature Range: -20°C to +60°C (flexible) or -40°C to +105°C (fixed). It won’t get brittle in the cold or melt in the heat.
Where Should You Use This Cable?
This cable is a workhorse. It fits many jobs where regular cables fail. Here are the best places to use it:
Industrial Automation and Encoders
If you build machines, you know servo motors and encoders are picky. They send precise pulse signals. A tiny bit of noise makes the robot jerk or lose position. This cable is perfect for connecting:
- Servo drives to motors.
- Encoders to PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).The double shield keeps the signal clean. The stranded core handles the constant vibration and movement in cable chains (drag chains).
CCTV and Video Transmission
You can use this for analog video (like CVBS) and digital video (IP cameras).
- Analog: It carries RGB or composite video signals better than coax in many short-to-medium runs.
- IP Cameras: It powers the camera (PoE) and sends video data on the same wire. No extra power cables needed.
- HDBaseT: For long-distance HD video (up to 100m), this cable supports HDBaseT extenders for 4K video.
RS-485 and Data Networks
This is a top choice for RS-485 communication protocols.
- Meter Reading: Connect electricity meters, water meters, and solar inverters.
- Building Automation: Link sensors, thermostats, and access control systems.
- Noisy Factories: If you have welders or heavy compressors, the shielding stops them from corrupting your meter data.
Audio and Control Systems
- Professional Audio: Use it for balanced audio lines (like XLR to RJ45 adapters) to stop hum and buzz.
- Security Systems: Connect alarm panels, keypads, and sirens.
Why Choose Our “Imported” Quality?
You might see cheaper cables online. But “cheap” often means “fake specs.” Here is why our product is different:
Real UL Certification
Many cables claim to be UL listed but are not. Ours is fully UL certified (UL 1581, UL 2517, or UL 444). This means a lab tested it for fire safety, electrical safety, and performance. If your project requires inspection, our cable passes. It meets the VW-1 flame test. It self-extinguishes if it catches fire. This is critical for in-wall installation in commercial buildings.
No “CCA” Tricks
Some sellers use Copper-Clad Aluminum (CCA). It is cheap aluminum coated in a thin layer of copper. CCA breaks easily. It has high resistance (voltage drop). Over 50 meters, your PoE cameras might not turn on. Our cable uses 100% Bare Copper. It costs more, but it works. It lasts 10 years, not 1 year.
Superior Twisting and Lay length
We control the “lay length” (how tight the wires twist). If the twist is loose, it doesn’t cancel noise. Our machines twist the pairs at the optimal rate (typically 1-1.5 twists per cm). This ensures high NEXT (Near-End Crosstalk) performance. Your data stays private and accurate.
Double Sheath Durability
Standard cables have one PVC jacket. Ours has two.
- The inner jacket cushions the wires.
- The outer jacket is tough against crushing, pulling, and chemicals. If you pull this cable through a pipe with sharp edges, the outer jacket might scratch, but the inner jacket keeps the shield intact. This prevents ground loops and shorts.
Ground the Shield Correctly
For shielding to work, you must ground it. We make this easy. The drain wire is easy to strip and terminate. When you use our shielded RJ45 connectors, the metal housing touches the braid. This creates a 360-degree ground connection. It dumps noise straight into the earth ground of your system.
Installation Tips for Best Results
To get the most out of this cable, follow these simple rules:
- Keep Distance from Power Lines: Do not run this cable right next to 110V or 220V power cables. Keep at least 30cm (12 inches) gap. If you must cross them, cross at a 90-degree angle.
- Use Shielded Connectors: You must use metal RJ45 plugs with strain relief boots. Plastic plugs break the shield and let noise in.1. Crimp the drain wire to the metal shell of the plug.
- Ground One End: Usually, ground the shield at the main switch or server end only. Grounding both ends can sometimes cause “ground loops” if the building wiring is bad.
- Bend Radius: Don’t bend the cable too sharp. The minimum bend radius is 4 times the cable diameter (about 20mm). If you bend it sharper, you crush the pairs and ruin the impedance.
- Termination Standard: Use T568A or T568B wiring standard. Make sure all 8 wires are connected. Gigabit speed needs all 4 pairs working.
Packaging and Logistics
We know you are a trading company or an installer. You need the cable packed right so it arrives ready to use.
- Packaging: Pull boxes (1000ft / 305m), wooden drums, or coiled packaging.
- Markings: The jacket is printed every meter with “CAT5e SHIELDED 24AWG 4PAIR UL”. This makes it easy to count length on site.
- Connector Options: We can supply bulk cable, or we can add RJ45 connectors, RJ21 (Telco) connectors, or M12 industrial connectors. Just ask!
- Shipping: We ship worldwide. The outer carton is water-resistant. The inner spool protects the cable from kinks during transit.
