4-Core 0.75mm² Shielded Cable

Signal Integrity in High-Noise Environments Without the Markup

Signal failure in an automated system isn’t a minor fault. It’s unscheduled downtime. Contaminated production batches. Engineers pulled away from planned maintenance to trace intermittent faults through hundreds of meters of conduit. The common weak point in these scenarios is often the most overlooked: the control and instrument cable carrying low-voltage signals through an electrically hostile environment.

The 4-core 0.75mm² shielded cable is a direct answer to this problem. It combines a precision-stranded copper conductor with an aluminium/polyester foil shield and a tinned copper drain wire. This construction blocks electromagnetic interference that corrupts analog and digital signals. We ship from stock from our own manufacturing facility, which means you pay factory price, not distributor margin. No premium for protection. Just the specs your control panel requires.

How the Shielding Structure Protects Your Signal Path

[Feature]: Aluminum/Polyester Foil Shield with 100% Coverage + Tinned Copper Drain Wire
The foil wraps the full circumference of the four cores. It creates a Faraday cage. This physical barrier diverts external radiated noise—from VFDs, motor cables, or adjacent power lines—directly to ground through the drain wire.
Advantage: No gaps in coverage. Unlike spiral or braided shields, a foil shield provides total surface contact.
Project Impact: Prevents ground loops and capacitive coupling that cause false triggering of sensors, corrupted PLC input signals, or erratic actuator movement. Your automation system executes the program as written, not as interpreted through a layer of electrical noise.

[Feature]: 0.75mm² Fine-Stranded Class 5 Bare Copper Conductors
Each of the four cores uses multiple thin copper strands instead of a single solid conductor.
Advantage: This increases the conductive surface area. The cable can carry higher current than a solid conductor of the same cross-section while maintaining flexibility for routing through panels, cable chains, and narrow tray bends.
Project Impact: Simplifies termination into DIN rail terminals and control devices. Reduces conductor breakage during installation. Handles momentary inrush currents without excessive heating. One cable type for both signal and low-power supply circuits.

[Feature]: PVC Core Insulation with Numeric Print Marking
Each core jacket is printed with a sequential number (1, 2, 3, 4). No reliance on an eighteen-color chart under poor lighting inside a panel.
Advantage: Unambiguous core identification. A number is a number.
Project Impact: Cuts ring-out time during panel build and field commissioning. Eliminates the most trivial but expensive error: landing the wrong core on the wrong terminal, then troubleshooting the fault for an entire shift. Your technicians wire faster and make fewer mistakes.

[Feature]: Industrial-Grade Grey PVC Outer Sheath
The outer jacket is formulated for mechanical resistance, not cosmetic gloss.
Advantage: Resists abrasion from pull-through, mineral oil splashes, and mild chemical cleaning agents common on factory floors.
Project Impact: Survives installation pull forces and the ambient conditions of a machine enclosure for years. You don’t schedule a cable replacement because the jacket cracked and exposed the shield.

Where This Cable Operates with Predictable Results

  • Automated Production Lines & Conveyor Systems. Connects photo-eyes, proximity sensors, and solenoid valve banks to PLC I/O modules. The foil shield ensures that a pulse from a 24V inductive sensor is not drowned out by the PWM noise from a nearby motor drive.

  • HVAC Building Management Systems. Carries analog 0-10V or 4-20mA signals from temperature, humidity, and pressure transmitters back to the DDC controller. Maintains signal accuracy over long roof-level cable runs parallel to fan motor power cables.

  • Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants. Links level floats, flow meters, and valve position feedback switches to RTU panels. The PVC sheath handles humid, intermittently wet containment areas without insulation breakdown.

  • Machine Building & Panel Wiring. Used for internal panel door connections and umbilical cables to operator consoles. The numbered cores speed up the repetitive wiring process across machine batches.

  • Security & Access Control. Carries data and power to card readers and door strike locks where induced noise from adjacent power wiring can cause intermittent reader failures.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • CE Marking – Compliant with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
  • IEC 60228 Compliance – Class 5 conductor construction verified.
  • Flame Retardancy to IEC 60332-1-2 – Single cable vertical flame propagation test passed. The jacket does not sustain combustion when the flame source is removed.
  • RoHS 2 (2011/65/EU) – All materials including PVC compounds and tinning process are free from restricted heavy metals.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Factory Production – Raw material traceability from spool to finished reel.

Questions That Often Come Up Before an Order

Q: Can this cable be routed outdoors or in direct sunlight?
The standard grey PVC sheath is rated for indoor and sheltered outdoor applications. PVC without UV stabilization will embrittle under prolonged direct sun exposure. If your routing includes exposed outdoor cable tray, request the PE (Polyethylene) sheathed variant. It sacrifices some flexibility but adds UV resistance. Service life in direct sunlight moves from a few years to well over a decade.

Q: What is the practical difference between this foil shield and a braided shield?
Foil shields provide 100% coverage and excellent high-frequency noise rejection. They are the right choice for low-voltage instrumentation signals. Braided shields offer lower DC resistance and better low-frequency magnetic field rejection. But they have gaps in coverage. For your analog 4-20mA loops, digital encoders, or Modbus RS-485 circuits, the foil shield is the correct engineering choice. Terminate the drain wire at one end only—preferably at the control panel earth bar—to avoid ground loop hum.

Q: We need 0.75mm² cable but with a black outer sheath. Is that a stock item?
Grey is our standard manufacturing program and what we hold in depth. Black sheath is a custom run. The minimum order quantity applies, and the lead time moves from same-day dispatch to a production slot. The conductor, core, and shield construction remain identical. If your project specification calls for black jacket for aesthetic consistency across all field instruments, we produce to that spec.
